Graduating from the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA), La Habana, in 1992, Arenas started his career drawing and printmaking at the Workshop of Artistic Silkscreen, René Portocarrero, and later worked as a draftsman at the Workshop of Artistic Silkscreen, Fuera de Serie, in Madrid. He has had solo shows at the Casa de la Comedia, the Centro de Artes Plásticas y Diseño, the Facultad de Artes y Letras at the Universidad de La Habana, and in galleries and cultural centres in Nimes, France. His work has been exhibited in numerous group shows in North América, Europe and Cuba. Manuel Arenas lives between France and New York.
