Gertrudis Olivia Rivalta (B.1971) is a Cuban-born multi-disciplinary artist working between Havana, Cuba and Alicante, Spain. Her work is founded on critical theories of race, identity, femininity, and power relations. Traditionally, Rivalta has worked primarily as a ‘plastic’ artist, using the material in surprising and innovative ways.
